Our undergraduate programmes are designed to provide a solid foundation in engineering principles, hands-on experience, and opportunities to engage with cutting-edge technology.

BEng Mechanical Engineering

This programme focuses on developing practical and theoretical skills in mechanical engineering, preparing students for a wide range of careers in industry and research. The MEng (Hons) / BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering degrees focus on industry-relevant topics to reflect the needs of today’s employers, giving you the opportunity to build a successful career in the design, engineering and manufacturing sectors.

BEng Aircraft Engineering

Tailored for those with a passion for aviation, this programme covers aircraft design, structures, and advanced manufacturing techniques.  The MEng (Hons) / BEng (Hons) Aircraft Engineering has been designed in partnership with the aerospace industry, and will provide you with the skills required to work effectively in the aircraft design, manufacturing, aerodynamic and structural design and repair and overhaul sectors.

BEng Civil Engineering

Civil Engineering students will explore the design, construction, and maintenance of infrastructure systems essential for modern societies, with a strong emphasis on sustainability. The BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering course covers broad-based civil engineering subjects to equip you with knowledge and skills to plan, design and implement major civil engineering projects.

BSc (Hons) Town Planning

The BSc (Hons) Town Planning programme offers students a unique opportunity to advance their careers through personal and professional development. This Workplace Learning programme, which follows the same format as a Graduate Apprenticeship, is designed to enhance town planning and management competence focusing on enhancing employability prospects by equipping learners with practical skills and knowledge.

Civil Engineering (Graduate Apprenticeship)

The UWS Graduate Apprenticeship BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering emphasises work-based learning, with one day per week at UWS Paisley Campus.

This accredited degree by the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM), including major engineering institutions, meets academic requirements for registration as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng) and partly fulfils the academic criteria for Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.

Engineering Design & Manufacture (Graduate Apprenticeship)

The UWS Graduate Apprenticeship BEng (Hons) Engineering Design & Manufacture effectively combines university education with work-based learning.

Students attend UWS one day per week, while workplace learning makes up over a third of the degree. The programme, which is taught by expert academics, emphasises advanced design and manufacturing concepts. These include CAD, prototyping, simulation, and digital manufacturing. The programme also covers  covers essential management, data analysis, and quality assurance skill-building aspects.

Postgraduate Programmes

Our postgraduate degrees provide specialised knowledge and advanced skills to address the challenges of tomorrow’s energy systems and industrial advancements.
